We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Unit Manager (UM) at The Laurels of Athens, a leading provider of long-term care services. Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding leadership opportunity for an experienced RN looking to take their career to the next level. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in planning, coordinating, and managing the nursing department. This will include verifying the current licensure and credentials of nursing employees, aiding with scheduling and performing resident rounds, maintaining proper charting and documentation, and participating in the budget process of the facility.

You will also be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of applicable managed care, Medicare, and state Medicaid regulations, reimbursement systems, and methodology. Additionally, you will aid in assigning responsibilities to associates, taking into consideration resident safety and ensuring that duties are commensurate with the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and ability of the persons to whom the duties are assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Assure that adequate strategies are in place to verify the current licensure and credentials of nursing employees.
  • Aid with scheduling and performing resident rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and suitability of nursing care.
  • Maintain proper charting and documentation of care and of medications and treatments.
  • Helps develop and implement the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident and resident population.
  • Participates in the budget process of the facility and helps maintain the nursing supply, equipment, and nurse staffing budgets.
Requirements:
  • Registered nurse, RN with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
  • Maintains current state licensure and CPR certification.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
