The Gearbox Assembly Supervisor plays a crucial role in collaborating with the gearbox management team to enhance the quality and productivity of the Gearbox Assembly Division. This position involves working alongside the supervisor to ensure departmental objectives are met, training assembly personnel, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement focused on optimizing assembly processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the effective training of staff assigned to the Gearbox Assembly Division.
- Support team members in developing and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor the work of team members to identify potential areas for process enhancement.
- Ensure all training activities are documented and maintained in training records.
- Conduct unit testing and troubleshoot issues related to Gearbox Assembly.
- Evaluate the quality of work performed by employees in the Gearbox Assembly Division.
- Provide training and address root causes of quality notifications, corrective action requests, and engineering modifications regularly.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to ensure departmental goals are consistently achieved.
- Offer insights to the supervisor regarding employee performance assessments.
- Engage with supervisors, leads, and operators across various departments.
- Assist and support the Gearbox Assembly Lead Trainer as directed by the Supervisor.
- Actively participate in the company's initiatives for suggestions, quality enhancement, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School degree is highly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting; prior leadership experience is advantageous.
- Self-driven, demonstrated mechanical skills, effective verbal and written communication abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to lead fellow employees, utilize precision measuring tools, and interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to frequently stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for extended periods of 10-12 hours daily.
- Capacity to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
