St. John's Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team on a PRN basis. As a member of our healthcare team, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly.
- Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures, and managing pain.
- Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively, remaining calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
