About the Role

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join its team at the Memphis, TN facility. As an E&I Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, including DCS, PLC, and HMI systems
  • Conduct conduit and wire repairs, replacements, and new installations
  • Perform electrical equipment and circuit troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and new installations
  • Diagnose and repair motor issues, including replacement and new installations
  • Calibrate and repair instrumentation systems, including control valves and sensors
  • Operate and maintain high-voltage switches and electrical distribution switchgear
  • Troubleshoot and repair control communication networks
  • Identify and resolve production process problems using DCS, PLC, and process data software

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship program, such as NECA and IBEW
  • 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician after completing apprenticeship
  • NFPA 70E training
  • Experience operating mobile equipment, such as forklifts and utility carts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Journeyman Electrician/E&I Tech in a pulp and paper mill
  • Experience in a preventive, predictive, planned, and scheduled maintenance environment
