Cashier Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at Vallarta Supermarkets. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating the cash registers, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate the cash registers accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to company standards and policies.
  • Identify and locate products for customers, ensuring accurate and efficient service.
  • Adhere to all state laws and company policies regarding alcohol, tobacco, WIC, and EBT transactions.
  • Balance the cash register at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform mathematical operations related to job functions.
  • Ability to identify various produce items and correlate corresponding produce codes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute of home store.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cash handling experience, 6 months to 1 year preferred.
  • Basic understanding of English language, reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Basic understanding of Spanish language, reading, writing, and speaking a plus but not required.
