Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The estimated annual salary for this position is $75,000-$80,000.

As a Psychiatric RN - Behavioral Health Home Care Specialist at Amedisys Inc., you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families by providing compassionate, patient-centered care in the comfort of their own homes.

You will perform initial nursing evaluations, including behavioral health/psychiatric nursing needs, and observe and evaluate the physical and mental status of patients for complications and medication side effects.

Instruct patients and caregivers in cognitive and technical aspects of care, medication regimes, disease processes, safety interventions, ADL care, coping skills, symptom management, and other interventions.

Administer IM medications, perform lab draws, and specimen collections as assigned. Act as a case manager in coordinating care for patients and supervise LPNs and HHAs.

Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, psychiatrist, and care team.

To be successful in this role, you must have a current RN license specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work. You must also meet one of the following requirements:

• An RN with a master's degree in a mental health nursing or psychiatric specialty and nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting.
• An RN with a bachelor's degree in nursing and one year of recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting.
• An RN with a diploma or associate's degree in nursing and two years of recent nursing experience in an acute treatment unit or other psychiatric setting.

Please note that experience must have been within the last three to five years. If not, documentation must support psychiatric retraining or classes or CEUs to update psychiatric knowledge.

Additionally, you must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
