About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled CDL Delivery Driver Class B Straight Truck to join our team at Hajoca Fire Protection & Fabrication Services in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Load and secure merchandise properly to ensure safe transportation.
  • Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload merchandise at delivery destinations and obtain legible signatures.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Inspect trucks and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition.
  • Complete the Driver's Daily Vehicle Inspection Report as required.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) for the vehicle(s) being driven, with hazmat endorsement if operating a vehicle that requires placarding for hazardous materials.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Ability to safely operate any delivery vehicle, including commercial motor vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
