About the PositionThe Registrar of Voters Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the operations of the department. As the face of the office, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the department's activities, including elections, voter registration, and public outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Supervise and direct the maintenance of voter registration records, including data accuracy and security.
- Develop and implement department policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with county and state policies.
- Collaborate with other county departments to secure election workers, coordinate technology, and secure facilities.
- Supervise assigned staff, including interviewing, selecting, training, and evaluating employees.
- Develop and administer the department budget, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with county and state regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Four years of full-time administrative experience in a government or elections-related field, including experience with policy development and interpreting local, state, and federal election law.
- Two years of lead or supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
- Must be a registered voter in the state of Nevada or become registered at the time of appointment.
