Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site and off-site evaluations of products to verify compliance with relevant standards. This includes:
  • Interpreting national codes and standards applicable to the equipment under test (EUT).
  • Understanding schematics and manufacturing guidelines.
  • Defining project scope and determining sample applicability.
  • Creating and implementing test plans.
  • Conducting thorough construction reviews and documenting findings.
  • Completing preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on-site and remotely.
  • Identifying and preparing necessary test instruments and equipment.
  • Setting up and operating EUT; performing minor repairs as required.
  • Executing tests in accordance with established standards, including input ratings, temperature assessments, leakage current, dielectric testing, grounding impedance, and more.
  • Ensuring proper sample handling and documentation throughout the testing process.
  • Compiling test results and drafting comprehensive reports for review.
  • Communicating project progress and results to clients and internal teams.
  • Documenting and recommending engineering judgments as needed.
  • Providing mentorship and training to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with photometric testing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with U.S., Canadian, and international product safety standards such as ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC, and IES.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems and draw conclusions.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary.
