Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the CNA is to ensure that residents receive compassionate and attentive care through various tasks, including:

- Assisting residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs.

- Supporting residents during meals, providing hydration, and facilitating their transfer to dining areas as per dietary guidelines.

- Responding promptly to resident requests for assistance and call lights, adhering to facility protocols.

- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in resident rooms, including changing linens and tidying personal items as necessary.

- Observing and reporting any changes in residents' conditions, including appetite and behavior, in accordance with facility policies.

- Offering emotional support and fostering trust to help residents gain independence in daily activities.

- Upholding the confidentiality of all resident information to protect their rights and privacy.

- Documenting care provided in medical records as per facility standards.
- Adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures while maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:


- A high school diploma or GED is required, unless working under a student permit.

- Certification as a CNA in good standing from the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH). CNAs from other states may work for a limited time while awaiting Indiana certification. Recent CNA graduates may also work temporarily while awaiting certification.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with programs such as Excel and Word.
- A solid understanding of safe and effective nursing practices in Indiana.
- Strong interpersonal skills to assist licensed nurses with procedures within the scope of practice for nurse aides.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, work independently, and make sound decisions when necessary.
- Personal integrity and the ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with both professional and non-professional personnel.
- Good judgment in prioritizing tasks and responsibilities according to established standards and policies.
- Discretion in handling confidential information and adherence to Corporate Compliance and HIPAA regulations.

- Patience, a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to assist residents based on their individual needs and capabilities.

- Ability to communicate relevant information regarding residents' conditions to appropriate staff members.
