Installation Specialist

About the Role:

This is an entry-level field technician position that involves working with new construction, hand tools, running cable and installing devices. You will be responsible for installing structure wiring, data pulls, pre-wire, networking cameras, security systems and home automation systems from start to finish in residential homes under construction.

The ideal candidate should have a good attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn. A company van will be provided along with a gas card for travel, and you must have a clear driving record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Running cables and wiring for homes under construction - referred to as Pre-Wire jobs, occurring in large construction sites for residential homes.
  • Installation and programming of Audio Visual Systems, Burglar Alarms, CCTV (IP & Analog), DVRs, and Access Control Systems for residential customers.
  • Installing window breaks, door units, smoke detectors.
  • Troubleshooting signal issues to ensure alarm functions properly if needed.
  • Performing daily hands-on field interaction with customers at the site level and some smaller customer care levels.
  • Testing and verifying signals for equipment.
  • Training customers on the use of equipment and answering all questions to include ensuring they have no additional needs (equipment, etc.).
  • Completing necessary customer paperwork for each job.
  • Maintaining accurate truck inventory of devices and products.
  • Providing top-quality customer service.

Requirements:

  • New construction experience - must be able to read a floor plan.
  • Prewire experience - seeing wiring through all stages.
  • Experience installing security systems (2GIG and Alarm.com).
  • Interpersonal/Customer Service Skills.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
