About the Role:

The Oversized Load Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of oversized and overweight loads, ensuring compliance with all regulations and working closely with customers, drivers, and permitting agencies to ensure safe and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading Coordination: Assign and schedule heavy haul loads to drivers, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Routing and Permits: Plan and provide routes for oversized and overweight loads, securing necessary permits and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on load status, delivery schedules, and any delays.
  • Driver Support: Monitor driver performance, provide route assistance, and address any issues that arise during transport.
  • Fleet Management: Track equipment availability and ensure that trucks and trailers are properly maintained and ready for dispatch.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any unforeseen issues such as mechanical breakdowns, road closures, or weather delays.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in heavy haul or trucking dispatch.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations related to oversized and overweight loads, DOT regulations, and route planning.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS systems.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan options.
