Lifeguard

Utah State University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our students, faculty, and staff while using our aquatic facilities. • Monitor activities in all areas associated with the aquatic facilities and enforce pool rules and regulations.
• Provide positive customer service and general information on pool operations and other campus recreation programs.
• Attend all training and perform required skills to the standard.
• Follow the established emergency action plan and procedures during an emergency.
• Examine injured persons and administer first-aid or CPR, if necessary, using the proper medical supplies, equipment, and training.
• Maintain a safe aquatic environment by encouraging proper use of equipment by the general public and upkeep of emergency equipment.
• Inspect facility and pool for cleanliness; perform general pool cleaning and maintenance when required.
• Complete and maintain pool records including potential safety hazards, medical treatments performed, and all relevant incident information.

• Minimum age 16.
• Excellent swimming skills and physical conditioning.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of pool equipment and maintenance.
• Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail with high level of accuracy and the ability to adapt.
