Dedicated Infection Preventionist Wanted

Stone Bridge Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and skilled Infection Preventionist to join our team.

As an Infection Preventionist at Stone Bridge Center, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control programs to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. Your expertise will be invaluable in identifying and preventing the spread of infections, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, and overseeing various programs such as Antimicrobial Stewardship, Employee Health, and Universal Influenza.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive infection prevention and control programs to identify and prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff
  • Review, update, and direct the implementation of infection control and prevention policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee Antimicrobial Stewardship, Employee Health, and Universal Influenza Programs to promote safe and effective practices
  • Serve as a member of the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee to drive quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with new hire screening, documentation, and immunization reporting requirements
  • Perform regular rounds to identify potential hazards, monitor infection control practices, and provide education and training to staff
  • Track, analyze, and present surveillance trends to inform action plans and improve outcomes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology
  • Valid state nursing license
  • Infection Control and Prevention Certification (ICP) required prior to assuming the role
  • At least 1 year of experience in infection prevention or a related field in a long-term care or healthcare setting
  • Excellent clinical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
