Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal guidance on corporate, contract, and business-related legal matters.
  • Advise on employment law, real estate transactions, intellectual property rights, and compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Engage in the analysis of legislative proposals and monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Serve as Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors, ensuring proper governance and compliance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of laws pertinent to healthcare service delivery, including HIPAA regulations, as well as expertise in corporate and tax-exempt organization law. Essential skills include:

  • Proficiently identifying and researching complex legal issues.
  • Evaluating various legal solutions and providing detailed analyses of legal documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.

Additional Information: This is a full-time role that necessitates regular travel within the metropolitan area and occasional travel throughout the state. A Juris Doctor degree and active membership in the Virginia State Bar are mandatory, along with a minimum of five years of relevant legal experience. Experience in health law, particularly in corporate regulatory and transactional matters, is highly desirable. Advanced degrees such as a Master of Health Administration or Master of Public Policy are preferred.

Compensation: Salary will be aligned with the candidate's experience, and VHHA offers a competitive benefits package along with an incentive plan.
