Responsibilities

The Psychology Department at North Park University is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a variety of courses, including Introduction to Psychology, Personality, and Psychology of Gender & Sexuality. As a part-time instructor, you will be contracted on a term-by-term basis and will be expected to teach to a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the university's syllabus template and approved course materials to develop engaging and effective course content.
  • Submit a personalized course syllabus to the dean one week prior to the course start date.
  • Adhere to the printed course schedule and meeting times.
  • Be available to students outside of class by email and by appointment as needed.
  • Ensure that all assessments are graded and returned to students promptly.
  • Submit mid-term grades for traditional undergraduate classes.
  • Complete all course obligations by the due date published by the Registrar.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Clear understanding of North Park University's mission of Christian higher education.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in a related field.
  • Experience using Canvas or comparable learning management system.
  • Experience teaching at a university level.
