Residence Counselor

Job Summary

The Residence Counselor (Graduate Assistant) is a vital member of the Craft Academy team, responsible for providing guidance and support to students in a residential setting. This role requires a strong understanding of student development and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive community.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Assistant Director of Residence Life in planning and leading activities that promote student engagement and well-being
* Work with students to connect them with counseling and emergency services as needed
* Serve as a role model for students in all areas of personal, relational, and academic life
* Monitor and document student curfews, check-in/check-out procedures, room cleanliness checks, and required study time checks

Requirements

* Must be admitted to a graduate degree program
* Must be enrolled in and maintain at least nine graduate hours per semester
* Must be able to work an average of 20 hours per week
* Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA each semester
* Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in residential life at the secondary or post-secondary level
* Experience working with gifted youth or pursuing advanced studies in gifted education and/or STEM fields
* Teaching experience and/or experience working with high school youth
