Job Summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and working capital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and prioritizing an active safety program, maintaining the continued safety of production employees, and driving rapid and significant improvements in on-time delivery, service level, and lead time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritize an active safety program to ensure the continued safety of production employees.
  • Drive rapid and significant improvements in on-time delivery, service level, and lead time.
  • Lead, plan, and direct production activities and establish production priorities in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Actively respond to demand fluctuations, production issues, material availability, work flow, personnel challenges, and equipment reliability to ensure effective operations, high quality, on-time delivery, and lowest possible cost.
  • Adhere to the Quality Management System and associated processes.
  • Improve quality performance objectives, including warranty, customer complaints, scrap, and first pass yield.
  • Sustain and continually improve the CMCO Lean Business System in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Develop and oversee the departmental budget, headcount, hours worked, OT, and expenses.
  • Maintain adherence to established processes, production transactions, and material movement to ensure transaction integrity, timeliness, and inventory accuracy.
  • Compile, analyze, and review production and performance data to monitor, control, and improve performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in lean culture development and lean tool implementation.
