About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Wexford, PA or Pittsburgh, PA office. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for working on geotechnical and geological engineering projects, conducting field observations, data evaluation, and office work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with project teams on geotechnical and geological engineering projects
  • Conduct field assignments, such as site mapping, drilling supervision, borehole logging, test pit logging, site reconnaissance, and construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring
  • Perform engineering analyses, designs, and recommendations
  • Contribute to geotechnical data and recommendation reports, with senior technical advice and review
  • Prepare construction documents, including engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset
  • Familiarity with process and concepts for design/build
  • Familiarity with relevant remediation, permitting, improvement, and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, with focus on Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • AutoCAD and GIS experience
  • Experience with collecting field data and samples, and using field-based data collection applications
  • Engineer in Training Certification
  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations
