Job Summary:
Mechanical Insulators play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of buildings by installing insulation materials. We are seeking an experienced Insulation Specialist to join our team at Great Lakes Skilled Trades. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical insulation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:
As a Mechanical Insulator, you will be responsible for installing insulation materials such as fiberglass, foam, and mineral wool on pipes, tanks, ducts, and other mechanical systems. You will also measure and cut materials to the specified size and shape using tools such as saws, knives, and other hand tools. Additionally, you will prep surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and installation of vapor barriers if applicable.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Insulation
  • Possess and have proficiency in using basic tools
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 Certification
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (50+ lbs), standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions.
