Early Childhood Assistant Provider for Lake Orion Community Schools

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant Provider to join our team at Lake Orion Community Schools. As an integral part of our childcare program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and development of our students.
About the RoleThis is an AM only position, working 6:30-8:30am, Monday - Friday at Orion Oaks Elementary School. Under the direct supervision of the classroom provider, you will assist with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives.
Job Responsibilities- Work directly with School Age Child Care Providers to ensure a smooth and safe learning environment
- Assist in carrying out daily schedules of activities, including indoor and outdoor events
- Be directly responsible for all children in care, providing individualized attention and support as needed
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students
- Available and responsive to all children, promoting a sense of belonging and connection within the group
- Multi-task and oversee all activities, managing time effectively to meet the needs of our students
- Actively participate in activities with children, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
- Treat all children with equal respect and consideration, regardless of age, race, religion, family background, or culture
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma
- CDA or Associate degree in early childhood education with minimum one to two years of experience in early childhood and/or childcare is preferred
- Candidates must be flexible to work a split shift daily, adapting to changing circumstances as needed
- Must meet all required qualifications as stated in Licensing Rule Book and program specific manual
- Must be flexible to work in all child care classrooms when needed, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt
- Ability to work effectively with children and parents, building strong relationships and trust
- Awareness of child development theory and practices, applying this knowledge to create engaging and inclusive activities
- Knowledge of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs, tailoring your approach to meet the unique requirements of each child
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students, promoting a sense of teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to treat children with kindness and respect, creating a safe and nurturing environment
- Self-motivated, dependable, and responsible, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
- Must be available and able to perform functions of the job, adapting to changing circumstances as needed
- CPR, First Aid Certificate required
- Good attendance record, demonstrating a commitment to reliability and punctuality
$35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
