Location: Beachwood, Ohio
Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Days:
Monday - Friday
Full-Time/Benefit Eligible
In this position, you will:
Play a crucial role in the patient care process by embedding and preparing slides for routine H & E and special stain procedures.
Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance.
Identify when troubleshooting is necessary for processing, embedding, cutting, and staining.
Work in a dynamic laboratory setting with biological and chemical hazards.
Promote safety, compliance, and quality control.
Requirements for the Histology Technician Trainee role include:
1 year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing.
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
Preferred qualifications include:
1+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory.
For the Histology Technician role, you will need:
A Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
Graduation from a Histotechnology program accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS AND HT (ASCP) certification required.
1 year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing.
Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent.
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
Bonus points if you have:
2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience.
