We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional quality of service and providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients with daily living skills and personal care tasks, including showering, dressing, and housekeeping.
- Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed, ensuring a valid Arkansas driver's license is maintained.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and compliance forms.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement client plans of care, ensuring treatment is carried out and good health, safety, and security are prioritized.
- Follow proper medication management guidelines and assist in monitoring and documenting these procedures.
- Organize and lead recreational activities for clients, promoting socialization and engagement.
- Model good behavior and adhere to Friendship Community Care's dress code and policies.
- Treat clients and their families with dignity and respect at all times, representing the organization's mission and values.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of FCC facilities and grounds.
- Attend necessary training and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
- Valid Arkansas driver's license and reliable transportation with state minimum liability insurance required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and physical demands. This is a safety-sensitive function, requiring the ability to pass background checks and maintain a clean driving record.
