Position Summary: The Community Living Manager is responsible for resource development for the individuals served, ensuring that personal goals are met, outcomes are realized, and the standard of care is consistently high. This role involves effective problem-solving and regular communication with program participants, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and families at a designated location.

Leadership Responsibilities: Oversees Direct Support Professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage a team of Direct Support Professionals; oversee staffing and scheduling, and arrange coverage as necessary. Organize and lead both individual and team meetings.
  • Provide direct support in the absence of staff.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring and termination processes; review applications.
  • Conduct interviews for open positions.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain adherence to UCP's policies and procedures as documented.
  • Facilitate completion of compliance training and activities; provide follow-up support or corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate activities to support transportation needs.
  • Perform weekly medication counts and review Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Inspect and report on the condition of adaptive equipment on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that vehicles are operational and equipped with necessary safety features; train staff on vehicle and lift safety protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within residences.
  • Manage weekly grocery orders and ensure menu availability.
  • Educate staff on dietary requirements and the significance of meal preparation practices.
  • Assist individuals in shopping for clothing and personal items.
  • Oversee financial logs, including CTF and Petty Cash; submit receipts and purchase requests as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation through regular audits; address any discrepancies.
  • Conduct home inspections and address any identified issues; notify maintenance for repairs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with families and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure completion of all evacuation drills and availability of safety equipment and emergency supplies.
  • Oversee behavior tracking and submit weekly reports.
  • Manage medical appointments, including scheduling and transportation arrangements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, 2 years of experience as a DSP, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.

Required: High School Diploma, 5 years of experience as a DSP, and a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring individuals may require lifting up to 100 pounds.
  2. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry individuals.

C. Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.

D. Ability to stand for extended periods.

E. Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.

F. Fine motor skills.

G. Visual acuity.
