Job Summary

The Registered Nurse - Emergency Department is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department environment. As a proactive and compassionate nurse, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
    • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care coordination.
    • Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that adapts to population-specific characteristics, cultural diversity, and patient preferences.
    • Partner with patients and significant others to set and achieve goals, using effective communication methods and timely updates.
    • Practice using current clinical practice standards, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting the professional care delivery model through diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods.
    • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing fiscally responsible care and promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
    • Participate in performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care, including initiating and leading activities and supporting shared governance.
  • Professional Development and Initiative
    • Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
    • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, and students, modeling the professional practice of nursing and creating a healthy work environment.
    • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing, participating in activities such as value analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Resources and Support
    • Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum, using direct patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
    • Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes, including reducing re-admission rates, avoidable days, and adverse events.
    • Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred)
  • Reg Nurse (Single State) licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred)
