Compensation is set at $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary:
The unarmed security officer will monitor and report on activities and incidents at the designated client site, ensuring the security and safety of property, personnel, and sensitive information. The officer will conduct regular patrols to identify irregularities, assess the functionality of security systems, and detect unauthorized individuals. Maintaining order and enforcing site regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct foot patrols of the assigned site, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, and security violations.
  • Prepare logs and reports as necessary, documenting all activities related to assigned duties.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, guests, and visitors.
  • Monitor access points to prevent unauthorized entry and assist in directing individuals as needed.
  • Report incidents, suspicious activities, or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to security alarms and emergencies as required.
  • Communicate openly and honestly in all interactions.
  • Protect evidence and secure the scene in the event of incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with property removal policies.
  • Perform additional tasks as required for the assigned site.
  • Adhere to the Golden Seal Enterprises Security Officer Standards of Conduct.
  • Complete necessary training to maintain required registrations.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This role operates within a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment and security tools.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include regular walking, observing, communicating, and responding to emergencies. While primarily active, some sedentary tasks may be involved.

Travel Requirements:

No travel is required for this position.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required; related experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military, law enforcement, or private security experience is advantageous.
  • Active registration in private security with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is preferred.
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain active registration with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check.
