Assistant Manager, Patient Care

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Manager, Patient Care to join our team at Northwell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership to a direct care unit or units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical and operational leadership to a direct care unit or units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient and family-centered care.
- Support the nurse manager's implementation of the strategic plan, effective communication with all team members.
- Develop and sustain relationships with team members, patients, and families centered on trust, respect, and inclusion.
- Uphold Northwell Health's Culture of C.A.R.E., creating a culture of connectedness, awareness, respect, and empathy.
- Ensure team members utilize best practices that are patient-centered and champion a just culture where staff feel safe to utilize tools in TeamSTEPPS.
- Support employee engagement for the unit as a priority, executing and monitoring goal and action plans that promote team pride and a healthy work environment.
- Remain current on knowledge of population health, scope and standards of practice, professionalism, and healthcare legislation, working closely with the NM to inform staff.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 4-6 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience, required.
