Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team as an Instructor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. As a key member of our surgical oncology team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and research opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage surgical oncology patients, including obtaining thorough histories and physical exams, ordering appropriate testing, and developing treatment plans.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient medical care services, including rounding, writing orders, and participating in patient care.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, APPs, hospital and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, maintain compliance with JCAHO accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards.
  • Support and uphold established organizational policies, procedures, objectives related to quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
  • Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner) and the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in surgical oncology preferred.
