Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 2 years in relevant painting processes is required, with preference given to candidates with experience in the aircraft industry. A valid Driver's License is essential.

Position Purpose:
The Aircraft Finishing Specialist II operates with minimal supervision to effectively prepare, paint, and detail aircraft in accordance with the established schedule, adhering to company quality standards and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing tasks safely and efficiently with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborate with supervisory and inspection teams to ensure adherence to internal and FAA documentation, sign-offs, and quality standards.
  • Utilize tools and equipment such as dual-action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms, and paint sprayers in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain and care for shop equipment and tools properly.
  • Follow safety protocols when handling sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals, utilizing protective gear as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and promptly address any unsafe conditions to prevent risks to personnel or property.
  • Employ the material tracking system to generate parts demand, monitor issues, and sign off on completed work.
  • Assist in the movement of aircraft within hangars.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and engage in related activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language is required.

Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to the aircraft painting process is necessary.

Capability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents is essential.

Able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to achieve respirator certification.

Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and be flexible with shift work.

Computer literacy is required.

A working knowledge of various paint processes and products (including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics) is essential.
