We are seeking a highly skilled Podiatric Physician to join our team at Balance Health, a leading comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide routine and referral podiatric services to patients, working under the direction of our Chief Medical Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Foot and Ankle Conditions: Examine patients' legs and feet to diagnose diseases, treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles.
  • Wound Care Management: Perform wound care management and diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results.
  • Prescribe Treatments: Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery as necessary.
  • Provide Education and Consultation: Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems, provide education/consultation to patients, family, and health care team.
  • Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine: Provide health promotion and preventive medicine services to patients.
  • Medical Record Keeping: Maintain appropriate medical records on assigned patients.
Requirements
  • Observation and Assessment Skills: Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Knowledge of Medical Standards: Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Diagnostic and Treatment Knowledge: Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient with computers, and have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR database.
Education and Experience
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of three (3) years professional experience preferred.
  • License and Education: Current License as a Podiatrist in the State of California, Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an Accredited School of Podiatry, Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Mobility: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Sitting and Standing: Ability to sit and stand for up to several hours at a time.
  • Vision and Hearing: Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
  • Dexterity and Fine Motor Skills: Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.

  • Competitive Salary: Competitive physician salary program with a base ($150,000 - $175,000) +comp. plan (level depends on applicable experience).
