As a Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager at PCL Industrial Services, Inc., you will play a vital role in our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly conducts and implements quantity assessments, surveys, and data management to oversee contract developments, reporting, and modifications.
  • Engages with and supervises subcontractor activities according to the project timeline, providing daily guidance as necessary.
  • Manages complex subcontracted tasks and oversees contract administration, including defining project scope, addressing inquiries, and tracking progress.
  • Ensures proper document management and adherence to procedures (handling RFIs, shop drawings, etc.).
  • Collaborates with designers and engineers to review plans, offering suggestions for value-enhancing or alternative construction techniques and materials.
  • Works closely with the project manager to prepare and distribute tender packages and contracts for intricate scopes, monitoring their execution.
  • Facilitates the overall project completion process, including document organization, maintenance manuals, identifying deficiencies, and warranty tasks.
  • Oversees the change order process, including pricing, negotiations, and assessing impacts on costs and schedules before discussions with the project manager. Performs basic estimations.
  • Collaborates with the project manager and site supervisor to manage overall project performance on more complex assignments, focusing on health, safety, cost management, scheduling, quality, and progress reporting.
  • Monitors inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, expediting orders as needed.
  • Conducts safety inspections and training, identifies potential hazards, and promotes health and safety practices.
  • Assists with site evaluations from the design team to address constructability and coordination challenges, ensuring compliance with functionality, regulatory requirements, and installation standards, while identifying and resolving deficiencies.
Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of experience in a construction operational role is preferred.
  • Certification in a construction trade or a degree in construction management or engineering is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction equipment, techniques, specifications, project health and safety standards, and required discipline standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Ability to apply advanced engineering and problem-solving techniques to construction challenges.
  • Thorough understanding of construction law, building codes, and ASME piping regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
  • Capability to formulate and manage subcontracts and contractual documents.
  • Experience in creating and scheduling projects valued between $3M and $50M.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong aptitude for embracing new technologies.
