Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Educator to join our team at Intermountain Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert education and guidance to caregivers in the perioperative services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs to support the learning needs of caregivers in the perioperative services department.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to caregivers in the perioperative services department.
  • Assess and evaluate the learning needs of caregivers in the perioperative services department and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement educational programs that support the learning needs of caregivers in the perioperative services department.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to caregivers in the perioperative services department to support their professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Three (3) years relevant nursing experience and two years is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
  • Previous formal education activities is preferred.
Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • See and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and will be required to:

  • Regularly attend work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients both verbally and written.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
