Job Title: Adjunct Clinical Instructor in Radiography

Job Description:

This position is for an adjunct clinical instructor in the field of Radiography. The instructor will engage in teaching across various environments including classrooms, laboratories, and clinical sites. Under the guidance of the Radiography Program Director and Clinical Coordinator, the instructor will be tasked with the preparation and delivery of clinical and laboratory education.

Employment Type: Part-Time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to the educational mission of Wilkes Community College, aligning with its vision, values, and learning outcomes.
  • Provide clinical instruction and assessment to students in Radiography at designated clinical education locations and/or on-campus laboratories.
  • Oversee student progress in clinical settings, conduct orientations, evaluations, and offer guidance throughout the educational journey.
  • Perform various administrative tasks to support the Radiography educational program.
  • Contribute to the ongoing review and enhancement of the program's curriculum, offering recommendations as per established policies.
  • Engage in assessment processes as required.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Participate in institutional committees, advisory boards, and community representation activities.
  • Commit to continuous professional development to enhance personal skills and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain necessary licensure, certifications, or other professional credentials pertinent to the role.
  • Involve in student recruitment, retention, advising, and registration initiatives.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Radiography Program Director.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Possession of a valid Basic Life Support credential.
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Radiography.
  • At least two years of full-time equivalent experience in a medical imaging environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, proficiency in computer applications, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Physical Requirements:

Work is primarily conducted in an academic setting with appropriate climate controls. Flexibility in scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, may be necessary.

Essential Functions:

Positions may require lifting, manual dexterity, effective communication, and the ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods. Movement between classrooms and buildings is necessary, along with the capacity to express or exchange ideas clearly.

Medium Work:
Involves operating various types of office and instructional equipment, requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Physical demands exceed those of sedentary work, necessitating the ability to walk, stand, stoop, reach, and grasp for prolonged periods.

Mental Application:
Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are essential.
