Radiation Therapist Clinical Assistant

Under the direction of the Chief Radiation Therapist and Lead Radiation Therapist, the Radiation Therapist Clinical Assistant is responsible for assisting the clinical radiation oncology team with tasks that are required to maintain operations of the Radiation Oncology department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist radiation therapists with patient positioning, moving, and lifting during radiation therapy treatments.
- Prepare rooms with proper equipment and immobilization devices.
- Transport inpatients to and from the Radiation Oncology department.
- Ensure treatment rooms and clinical rooms are properly stocked with supplies and laundry.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls and assisting with scheduling of patient appointments.
- Assist with patient care coordination and chart checks.
- Transport materials to and from the Radiation Oncology department.
- Demonstrate understanding of Universal precautions, aseptic technique, hand hygiene, and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment.
- Provide safe patient care.
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal professional relationships with physicians, management, peers, patients, and their families.
- Convey a positive attitude and present a professional appearance.
- Effective communication (both oral and written) skills sufficient to resolve conflicts and relay information concisely to staff, patients, and other hospital personnel.
- Familiarity with office equipment, including photocopy machines, computers, printers, and facsimile.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Some college or associate's degree preferred.
