The Travel Nurse RN will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing care within the Perioperative Services department. This position requires a dedicated professional who is committed to ensuring patient safety and operational efficiency.
Certification Requirements- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
- Preferred certifications may include Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurse (ASPAN), or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN).
- Verification of state licensure and additional certifications such as Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and Color Blind Testing Online may be required.
- Manage flexible start dates and work hours, typically from noon to 8:30 PM.
- Provide on-site nursing services Monday through Friday, with the potential for weekend and night shifts on a rotating basis.
- Oversee on-call responsibilities alongside other coordinators to ensure continuous patient care.
- Lead and coordinate clinical and administrative activities within the Perioperative Services area.
- Ensure daily operations align with nursing practice standards and patient care delivery.
- Collaborate with various healthcare professionals to establish evidence-based nursing care protocols.
- Optimize patient throughput in the Operating Room (OR) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to minimize delays.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards set by the Joint Commission, IDPH, and CMS.
- Possess knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and the management of nursing staff.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution, with additional coursework in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois is required.
- A minimum of five years of recent nursing experience in a hospital setting is essential.
- At least three years of recent experience in a supervisory or charge nurse role within Perioperative Services is necessary.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Standard hours are from 12:00 noon to 8:30 PM.
- On-site availability is required Monday through Friday.
- Flexibility for weekend and night shifts on a rotating basis is necessary for on-call coverage.
