Job Summary:
As a Radiology Imaging Specialist at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. This position requires a strong foundation in radiologic technology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including routine and advanced imaging techniques, to produce high-quality images for medical diagnosis.
- Evaluate patients for clinical contrast history and potential contraindications to ensure safe and effective imaging procedures.
- Adhere to established protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements to maintain the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Interact effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and prioritize imaging procedures.
- Rotate within departments and clinics to ensure proper coverage and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Assist radiologists and other medical professionals in invasive and fluoroscopic procedures, using equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control standards and ensuring exam rooms are adequately stocked.
- Accurately code and enter charges for imaging procedures.
- Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs.
- Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the integrity of sensitive information.
- Demonstrate adherence to CHRISTUS Health's core values and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Current registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required (Temporary permit required for new graduates).
- Current state licensure required.
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, rotating within departments and clinics as needed. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong foundation in radiologic technology, and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs.
