POSITION TITLE: Machinist Level III

DEPARTMENT: Machine Shop

LOCATION: United Stars Holdings, Inc.

REPORTS TO: Machining Lead

PAY TYPE: Hourly


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The selected candidate will primarily operate during the second shift, with potential overtime as required. Collaboration with team members is essential to ensure the timely production of high-quality components in a safe environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing, reviewing, and refining machine programs for 2-axis lathes and mills utilizing Gibbs Cam Programming.
  • Engaging in new part development, assessing and implementing change requests, and enhancing existing programs or tooling.
  • Interpreting part and die blueprints; adjusting machine speeds and feeds while selecting suitable tooling.
  • Collaborating with Design Engineers and Quality Assurance personnel to confirm that parts meet specified dimensional criteria and quality standards.
  • Managing consumable inventory to avert delays in production schedules.
  • Assisting fellow operators with troubleshooting issues.
  • Operating machinery while adhering to the production schedule.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of programming experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software with a fundamental understanding of GD&T.
  • Strong mathematical skills are essential.
  • A genuine interest and eagerness to learn.
  • A positive attitude and adaptability are crucial.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
