Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Cherokee Brick & Tile Co. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Prepare and install production machinery for new lines or processes.
  • Perform mechanic skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training and exposure to high-speed equipment.
  • 2 years of related experience in production machines.
Work Environment

The employee will be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee will occasionally be exposed to extreme conditions in and around the manufacturing plant. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee will regularly be required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Travel is not expected, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may occur to assist with installation of equipment at other company locations.
