Job Summary

The Gas General Foreman plays a pivotal role in leading a crew to successfully complete daily tasks related to the installation and repair of natural gas pipelines and/or joint trench utilities for power and telephone in a safe and correct manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee crew safety and productivity, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company standards and regulations.
  • Install and pressure test both mainline and service line gas pipe, as well as complete routine safety inspections and documentation.
  • Coordinate and delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product.
  • Gain entry to site buildings for work crew and call in utilities located at each project site.
  • Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure the crews work safely.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, including tracking employee hours and submitting for payroll.
  • Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
  • Communicate with customers and inspectors to ensure project requirements are met.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of gas pipeline construction or maintenance experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Class A CDL.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of gas pipeline construction experience.
  • Operator Qualification (OQ).
  • Pipe fusion certification.
  • DOT Flagger certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and working in inclement weather conditions.
