Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) is seeking a full-time General Internal Medicine faculty member to join our new Department of Internal Medicine in Asheville, NC.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care services in the faculty outpatient practice.
- Supervise and teach house staff in the resident outpatient practice, promoting excellent patient care and resident education.
- Participate in education programs, including didactics, continuing education, and resident education, to enhance knowledge and skills in Internal Medicine.
- Contribute to clinical and educational research, focusing on community-based health sciences and research initiatives.
- Collaborate with institutional staff and administration to achieve MAHEC's strategic objectives, including patient safety, quality improvement, and fiscal health.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience post-residency training or completion of a faculty development fellowship.
- Licensure to practice medicine in North Carolina and certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Board Eligibility.
- Appointment in good standing to the medical staff of Mission.
- Teaching experience and Spanish speaking skills.
Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility to respond to special work assignments and evening activities as requested by the team leader.
