Position Overview:
As a Literacy Educator, you will serve as an instructor in a standard classroom environment, delivering lessons in designated subject areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and conduct academic classes effectively.

  • Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom to enhance student motivation.
  • Maintain discipline within the classroom to facilitate optimal learning conditions.
  • Document student records in accordance with PRH and SOP requirements; input all relevant student data, including attendance, performance, progress, positive behavior, and any disciplinary incidents; report significant behavioral issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Build strong rapport with students to enhance learning experiences.
  • Utilize provided curriculum resources, implement new educational materials, and develop curriculum through Educational Learning Plans.
  • Integrate applied academic activities into the daily curriculum.
  • Ensure thorough preparation of the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess student performance and achievement regularly.
  • Recommend student awards as per the center's incentive plan.
  • Record attendance at the start of each class session.
  • Assist in completing necessary forms and entering case notes monthly for each assigned student.
  • Follow security protocols to safeguard equipment, curriculum materials, tests, and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom.
  • Prepare reports, requisitions, and evaluations of student performance in a timely manner.
  • Support the manager during scheduled property inventory checks.
  • Review each student's progress daily to ensure they are making adequate advancements and completing their assignments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum: A Bachelor's degree and certification to teach in the state where the center is located. (Certification may be waived if the center cannot hire a certified teacher, but the candidate must actively pursue certification within an agreed timeframe).

Preferred: At least one year of experience in a teaching role with disadvantaged youth.

Knowledge Requirements: Proficiency in the required subject area, exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), strong organizational abilities, CPR/First Aid Certification (must be obtained and maintained), and the capacity to motivate and inspire students.

Salary Range:
$66,560 - $75,000 Annually
