Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Avionics Engineer to enhance our capabilities at Abacus Technology Corporation. This is a full-time role focused on delivering expert technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitating Aircraft Information Management Systems (AIMS) requirements, including testing, certification, and spectrum management.
  • Employing Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) standards to define and assist in the testing and certification of aircraft and systems.
  • Contributing to the review, development, and revision of program documentation pertinent to avionics engineering.
  • Executing system analyses, encompassing avionics system design and pinpointing areas for enhancement.
  • Engaging in technical reviews and offering insights on hardware and software installations.
  • Assisting in performance evaluations, cost-effectiveness assessments, and risk management.
  • Reviewing test plans and participating in testing activities as necessary.
  • Evaluating technical documents and system databases for compliance and airworthiness standards.
  • Participating in technical discussions regarding system updates and enhancements.
  • Contributing to the formulation of requirements for future equipment upgrades.
  • Utilizing expertise to review airworthiness reports related to associated equipment.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in avionics engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a Department of Defense environment. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Candidates should demonstrate advanced knowledge and the capability to mentor junior staff in this discipline. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and internet applications is essential. A strong understanding of avionics engineering, CNS/ATM standards, and controls and displays systems is critical. US citizenship and a current Secret clearance are mandatory.

Selected candidates will undergo a U.S. government security investigation and must meet classified information eligibility requirements.
