Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Courier to join our team at Christus Health. As a Medical Courier, you will be responsible for transporting medical specimens and equipment to various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport medical specimens and equipment to and from various locations, including hospitals, laboratories, and clinics.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs and records, including fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and computer systems, as well as manage supply inventory.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using discretion and judgment to resolve issues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects, as well as work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

The Medical Courier will work in a well-lit, ventilated area, with occasional exposure to disagreeable odors, toxic fumes, and high noise levels. The position involves high risk exposure to carcinogenic, hazardous, and flammable chemicals, biohazardous and radioactive materials, sharp needles and blades, infectious diseases, and toxic fumes.

Physical Requirements

The Medical Courier may be required to work more than a standard shift, with sitting, standing, and stooping involved throughout the shift. The ability to lift over 30 pounds is required.
