Welding Technician Opportunity

Venteon is seeking a skilled Welding Technician to join our team in Novi, Michigan.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Welding Technician to work on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotic welding, electro-mechanical systems, and automation. Experience working with Fanuc Robots and Allen Bradley PLCs is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and teach robots as required
  • Troubleshoot and adjust robots, weld controllers, and other equipment using PLCs and HMI
  • Assist with changeover of equipment, components, and tooling
  • Provide support to production to ensure a smooth production run
  • Adjust MIG, spot, and arc brazing welding schedules on Medar, Lincoln, Fronius, and Panasonic weld controllers
  • Maintain equipment to ensure machines produce quality parts
  • Responsible for daily preventative maintenance
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement activities
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, adhering to TS-16949 standards

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma from a technical college in robotic welding, electro-mechanical, or automation is preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing plant
  • Strong PLC skills
  • Experience working with Motoman and Fanuc Robots, and Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
