Job Overview

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This 13-week travel assignment offers a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:
    • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure accurate MRI procedures.
    • Explain the MRI process to patients, addressing questions and concerns to minimize anxiety.
    • Complete necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information.
    • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety.
  • Conducting MRI Scans:
    • Operate MRI machines, adjusting settings to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by physicians.
    • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring comfort and alignment while adhering to safety standards.
    • Administer contrast agents as prescribed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort:
    • Ensure patient safety during MRI procedures, verifying no ferrous or metal objects are present.
    • Keep patients informed during scans, providing reassurance and instructions as needed.
    • Monitor patients' conditions, detecting potential issues or discomfort.
  • Post-Procedure Care:
    • Assist patients off the MRI table after procedures and ensure they are stable and comfortable.
    • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments and aftercare.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Care:
    • Regularly calibrate and maintain MRI machines, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team:
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure correct images are obtained.
    • Work with healthcare professionals to review images and discuss patient conditions.
Requirements and Qualifications

This role requires an MRI Technologist with a strong background in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and current licensure are essential. Experience working with MRI machines and excellent communication skills are also required.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours of work per week. A tax-free stipend will be provided, with the amount to be determined.
