Job Summary:

The Mental Health Worker at Compunnel Inc. provides compassionate care and support to individuals experiencing mental health issues. This role involves direct client interaction, facilitating therapy sessions, assisting with case management, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of comprehensive mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support and Care:
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to clients, assisting them in developing coping strategies and improving their overall well-being.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed therapist, promoting client growth and progress.
  • Case Management:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for clients, ensuring their needs are met and goals are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, progress reports, and other documentation, facilitating effective communication among team members.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and areas for intervention, informing treatment strategies and care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress regularly, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Crisis Intervention:
  • Provide immediate support and intervention during mental health crises, developing and implementing safety plans to address acute mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with emergency services and other relevant agencies during crises, ensuring a comprehensive response to client needs.
  • Education and Advocacy:
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the healthcare system and the broader community, reducing stigma and promoting mental health awareness.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of mental health, attending training sessions, workshops, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a mental health or social services setting.
  • Licensure/Certification: Relevant licensure or certification preferred (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude, with a commitment to providing compassionate care and support.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate records, with the ability to coordinate with external agencies and community resources.
