Community College of Aurora is seeking an experienced Nursing Faculty member to join our team. As a Nursing Faculty, you will be responsible for curriculum development, evidence-based instruction, and ongoing program evaluation.

About the Job

This is a 9-month contract position paid over 12 months, adhering to a typical college schedule. The successful candidate will teach 15 credits during the fall and spring semester, and 10 in the summer. You will also receive 3 credits in each semester for administrative time for theory, laboratory, and clinical preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates the purpose, mission, and objectives of the Nursing Education Program.
  • Designs, implements and evaluates the curriculum using a written plan.
  • Participates in academic advising and guidance of students utilizing the Student Success Plan.
  • Plans and provides theoretical instruction and clinical or laboratory experiences that reflect an understanding of the mission, objectives, and curriculum of the Nursing Education Program.
  • Evaluates student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice.
  • Supports the Nursing Department with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of Adjunct Nursing Instructors (ANIPs).
  • Contributes to institutional accreditation activities.
  • Gathers feedback from stakeholders to design curriculum.
  • Gathers and analyzes student data to support continuous program improvement.
  • Supports nursing student recruitment efforts in collaboration with student services departments.
  • Attends faculty meetings and participates in committees that support the mission of the nursing program and College.

Requirements

  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation.
  • An active current, unencumbered Colorado RN License.
  • Two years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience.
  • One year of teaching experience (i.e., clinical instructor, adjunct instructor, unit educator, Hospital nursing educator, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with CCA's community partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of teaching experience, including didactic, clinical, and/or skills-based evaluation and assessment.
  • Experience with nursing program accreditation.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Experience with online teaching and Learning Management System (LMS).

Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000.00 annually. Community College of Aurora offers generous leave, holiday, and education benefits. Full-time employees earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
