POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automotive Education Specialist plays a crucial role within the After Sales Account Team, which is dedicated to cultivating a high-performing retail workforce in the After Sales sector. This team is tasked with crafting programs and executing strategies to enhance this development, which includes the creation and delivery of suitable training curricula. This role is accountable for facilitating product knowledge and skills-based training for Technicians and Shop Foremen, aiming to foster learning and cultural transformation within the Client's retail setting. The ideal candidate will possess a vibrant and engaging demeanor, serving as a dynamic facilitator of interactive learning experiences tailored for adult learners. A technical background in the automotive field is preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical, product knowledge, and skills-based instruction, including certification, tactical, product launch, and customized programs for dealers.
• Act as a subject matter expert in curriculum design and development alongside the Sales/After Sales Account Team.
• Collaborate with field team members and Academy team members to evaluate training needs and offer insights on curricula.
• Engage in the planning of regular Technical Training schedules.
• Assist in identifying core competencies for Technicians and Shop Foremen.
• Partner with the Team Leader to ensure quality delivery and consistent achievement of goals and standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends and automotive products by attending auto shows and reviewing trade publications.
• Exhibit effective time management and a solid understanding of budget responsibilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in retail automotive or equivalent.
• At least 3 years' experience in facilitation.
Unique Skills
• Familiarity with adult learning principles.
• Understanding of Process Improvement methodologies.
• Strong presentation and listening abilities.
• Proficient in dealership process diagnosis.
• Competence in major MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc., and internet navigation.
• Highly skilled in facilitation, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
• Self-driven and well-organized - a continuous learner in automotive technology.
• Team-oriented - capable of building and maintaining credibility with dealers, field teams, and the Academy.
• Ability to comprehend the operations of a top-performing dealership to achieve high customer satisfaction levels.
