Position Overview:
The role of the Special Education Instructional Aide is designed to support a certified educator in delivering educational instruction and care to individual students or small groups with special needs, either in a mainstream classroom or a specialized setting. This position also involves performing various administrative tasks to assist classroom activities and supervising student behavior in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the instructional process for students with special needs.
- Support the classroom teacher in managing student behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
- Perform clerical duties related to classroom activities.
- Monitor and support students during various school activities.
Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Preferred experience working with children in an organized environment.
- Must achieve a passing score on the required proficiency assessment.
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the job requirements may be considered.
Licenses and Certifications:
- CPR certification from an authorized agency (to be obtained within three months of employment).
- First Aid certification from an authorized agency (to be obtained within three months of employment).
