Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Float Pool team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Clinical Float Pool Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including medical-surgical, pediatrics, and critical care units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established patient care standards.
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee.
  • Float to various departments and sites throughout the organization to provide patient care, including scheduling day of staffing, multiple assignment locations within a single shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients, incorporating the principles of growth and development and the patient's specific needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current nursing license in the designated state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, as required by specialty assignment.
  • Associate's degree in nursing (required); Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred).
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, and physical altercations. You may also be required to use physical restraints and be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials.

Physical Requirements

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to perform shift work, and the ability to maneuver the weight of patients. You must also be able to hear alarms, telephone, and audio recordings, and reach above shoulder level.
